Alternate (Newbie) Avatar Adventures
I realised that I’m really neglecting the ‘Diary’ part of this blog… Since it’s actually called: Olila’s Second Life - Diary & Tutorials…
Well I’m a tutorial person - made a lot of those and even during some time (in my Swedish real life) earning my keep by translating tutorials for technical products from English to Swedish.
NOO! I’m not a guy! I’m a female from beautiful Stockholm!
But since we are speaking of guys… I really wanted to make a blog-tut about where to find GOOD free stuff for new residents in SL. What I soon realised was that most of the really good totally free stuff was for avatars not older than 30 days… Hmmm…
So… I created myself an ALTERNATE AVATAR! Yes, yes I said it out really load because many people think that an alternate avatar is like some sort of cheating… But I can assure you: I’m NOT going to deceive anyone! I just wanted to become a Newbie FOR REAL. Like for educational purposes… 
Then when I was signing up that alternate account I though: Wouldn’t it be even more educational… If I created a MALE alternate avatar! I said that out load to - because that might be an even more cheating, deceiving thing to do!
Seriously! Many people have alternate avatars. And for the gender part. Sometimes I think that it’s even more common to create an avatar of the opposite sex than the other way around. Well, maybe not MORE common… But really common anyway.
At first I thought that it might be nice to have a really masculine name like Hulk or Tarzan - but then I thought that the best thing would be to have a name that goes for both male and female if that male av idea didn’t turn out to be such a good idea after all…
At this point I have only spent a couple of hours in SL with my male alternate av - taking some pictures walking through ‘Orientation Island’ and ‘Welcome Areas’ since I thought that this whole experiment would be wasted if I didn’t do some newbie-tuts about it
And, oh my GOD! I really had forgotten all the things you have to put up with being a new resident! NOTE! The following story has MATURE content… F-word alert!
How my Male Alt became a “Knight in Shining Armour” and made his first friend
I was exploring the initial ‘Orientation Island’ when two new avatars materialised. I clicked their profiles. New Borns! To help you visualise:
The girl hade the outfit of ‘Chic City Female’
The guy ‘Chic City Male’ outfit.
I myself was ‘Sexy Nightclub Male’ which of course is MUCH better!
After about 1 minute the guy started chatting with this nice gal. First question: ‘How old are you’ She answered, telling him she was in SL for a school project. And here is the following conversation:
[13:28] Male Av: So can I fuck you now?
[silence, silence]
[13:29] Female Av: No you may NOT but may I suggest that you go FUCK your UGLY mother instead?
Oh My God! I had one of my best laughs in SL, ever!
At this point I realised that my av actually was a MAN and actually not a REAL newbie when it comes to skills and telling people off… So I addressed the guy! He He!
[13:30] Me: Are you bothering this nice girl?
[13:31] Me: Maybe you want to fuck with me instead?
[13:32] Male Av: fuck u
[13:32] Me: Yes, actually you MAY fuck me! Be my guest if you know HOW!
[13:33] Male Av: shut up fuck
[13:33] Female Av: ROFLMAO 
After this I IM’ed the girl - teaching her how to fly and we took off into the sky leaving a surprised Male Av on the ground! And that’s how my Male Alt became a “Knight in Shining Armour” and made his first friend!
And what’s the moral of this story?
If you don’t know how to fly… You don’t know how to fuck!
(And when I come to think about it… That might actually be true in Real Life, too… )

From now on I’m going to call my Male Alt: Knight Shining! And here he is fresh from ‘Orientation Island’ at the ‘Welcome Area’!
